Hannah Lupton Reinhard (b. 1996) lives and works in Los Angeles. She earned her BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Lupton Reinhard engages with themes and objects from Judaism, the faith in which she was raised and which she still practices steadfastly. Her fascination with crystals began in childhood, obsessing over the collection of her grandmother, who made and sold Swarovski jewelry to Saks Fifth Avenue in the late 1980s, a focus which deepened at RISD, where she chanced upon 'The Crystal Palace', a secret room holding half a million dollars' worth of donated Swarovski crystals. Crystals now finish almost every Lupton Reinhard painting, in the original style she refers to as 'fantasy realism'. Her solo exhibitions include Beshert: Beholden at Rusha & Co., Los Angeles; A House of Stars and Angels at the Green Family Art Foundation, Dallas; and Shekinah, Shiksas, And Other Nice Jewish Girls at Fredericks & Freiser, New York. Her work is held in the collection of ICA Miami.
