Nina Rimér (b. 2003) is a Swedish artist working primarily in large-scale oil paintings on linen. Self-taught, she has developed her practice through dialogue and international collaborations alongside influential artists from around the world. Rooted in a connection to the subconscious, a use of familiar yet unusual forms lets beauty balance the bizarre, inviting viewers to uncover layered possibilities over time.
”My work explores organic movement and graphic structure, rhythm, order, and tension. This is echoed in New York’s energy and architectural language, its constant flow existing alongside a strong underlying structure. During the residency, I hope to absorb this rhythm and allow it to naturally influence the evolution of my work.”
